Keeping the Plan Alive
An emergency plan only helps if it still works when it is needed:
- Tell someone it exists: the best-encrypted envelope helps no one if nobody knows to look for it — say where it is and what it is
- Do one rehearsal: sit down together once and decrypt a copy — the offline decryptor works without the service, so your family is not depending on us either
- Review yearly: a changed master password or a new bank makes the envelope stale; reprinting an updated version costs nothing, so put a note in your calendar
